Sustained subject leadership
James served as Subject Matter Expert for the BTEC Tech Award in Digital Information Technology from its inception in 2018 until 2024. He contributed to the qualification and incorporated three significant Ofqual updates so that it remained current and useful.
Alongside qualification work, he designed the associated teaching and learning materials as a coherent resource suite rather than a collection of disconnected documents.
Supporting delivery nationwide
James delivered extensive in-person and online training to teachers across the UK. The sessions helped educators understand the qualification, use the resources with confidence and translate digital concepts into effective learning.
The result joined policy, subject knowledge, learning design and educator capability in one sustained programme of work.
