Since 2018, James has overseen the branding, event promotion, and management for the annual Bachakiz Nottingham Festival. His work has spanned across various elements including website management, programme design, ticketing, signage, and event marketing.
Branding & Marketing: Each year, James developed fresh, eye-catching posters, pull-up banners, and social media content to capture the spirit of the congress. The branding for Bachakiz evolved from vibrant colour schemes to more modern and dynamic designs, featuring top international instructors and artists. Notable yearly highlights include fiery designs for 2022’s edition for Sol, and unique branding for stars like Enah and Kike & Nahir in previous editions.
Programmes & Signage: James handled the design and production of the event programmes, ensuring that attendees had clear schedules and information at hand. On the day of the event, signage was visually aligned with the congress branding, providing a seamless experience from registration to workshops.

Website & Ticketing Management
In addition to visual design, James managed the event’s website, keeping it updated with ticketing systems and event information. His work ensured a smooth ticketing process and an easy-to-navigate platform for attendees to book their places at the festival, which consistently attracted a large number of dancers.
By maintaining consistent and innovative branding across all elements, James has helped Bachakiz Nottingham Festival remain one of the top dance events, with a professional, polished identity that continues to grow in recognition.
One Event – Many Styles
The Bachakiz branding changes every year in order to reflect a ‘theme’ chosen by the organisers. Some examples of that are below, and the 2023 ‘cartoon’ branding is also shown above.
2018 Branding
The idea for the 2018 branding was to reflect a more British colour scheme (red, white, blue) and yet give it an ‘edge’. The paint platter was chosen as a strong design style while retaining the white main colouring.
2022 Branding
The 2022 branding was designed around ‘fire and bright’. The colouring of fire was enhanced with the purple and red to give a deeper colour palette that made a strong and colourful statement that was very visible in social media branding.
